To all the people who say they will remember come 1990 Sen. Paul Simon`s reluctance to drop out of the presidential race: I hope you will also remember Sen. Simon`s 30-year record on civil rights, education and labor. As a lawmaker, he has helped put more legislation in these areas into law than any other U.S. senator from Illinois.
I hope you will also remember that Paul Simon is an honest, decent and sincere politician in a day and age when honest, decent and sincere politicians are few and far between.
