Yields on 30-year Treasury bonds rose in Thursday`s $8.5 billion auction to the highest level in 27 months. The average yield was 9.17 percent, up from 8.51 percent at the last auction on Feb. 4. It was the highest rate since 30- year bonds averaged 9.28 percent on Feb. 18, 1986.
