Services for John G. Begaard, 76, chief of music therapy at Veterans Administration Medical Center in North Chicago, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Park Ridge Community Church, 100 Courtland Ave., Park Ridge. Mr. Begaard, a Chicago resident, died Saturday in Resurrection Hospital. He had been a music therapist at the hospital for 26 years. He also was a professor of music at Indiana University, Tift College in Georgia and Drury College in Missouri. He was a graduate of the American Conservatory of Music in Chicago and made his concert debut in 1940 at Kimball Hall in Chicago.He is survived by his wife, Marie; a son, John ”Chick”; a daughter, Deborah Fogarty; and four grandchildren.
