Something was missing in the Tempo article ”Back Rooms” (accounts of abortions before Roe v. Wade).
Not one of these ”victims” expressed concern for the destroyed life, nor accepted responsibility for the consequences of her actions. (Pregnancy, after all, does not drop out of the sky; it`s a result of personal action.)
The adoption alternative is presented as too much trouble and too disruptive of life plans. These self-pitying women appear in sharp contrast to all the brave young women who had their babies and gave them up to adoptive homes.
Abortion is a back-room procedure even if it takes place in a hospital. The end result for the baby is the same.
