Helmar E. Hoffman, 92, a resident of Chicago for 51 years, died Friday in Lutheran Hospital, Moline, Ill. Mr. Hoffman was an Army veteran of World War I, where he served in France and Belgium. In Chicago, he was a tool and die maker for the A.E. Hanchey Chemical Co. He lived most recently in Oak Glen Nursing Home, Coal Valley, Ill. Mr. Hoffman is survived by a son, Robert;
seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in the chapel at 2106 Seventh Ave., Rock Island.
