”Winnetka`s unexplainable tragedy” was a sensitively written commentary on the tragedy of Laurie Dann. Thank you for encouraging the psychiatric community to study more carefully the nature of violent mental illness.
I would like to see research into Ms. Dann`s entertainment habits. Had she watched movies like ”Fatal Attraction” and violent TV programs and movies? Much research is needed into the effect of violent entertainment on persons who are mentally ill.
However, I was most moved by ”One more victim.” The contrast between Winnetka, Geneva and other lovely suburbs and the inner city has never been painted more graphically. Once again, I realize that I must do whatever I can to help find solutions to the pain and horror of the inner city.
