Have you fired up the barbecue grill yet this season? The cooking and eating parts of a picnic can be fun, but cleaning the grill is a messy chore. Some cleanup tips:
– Before grilling, line the inside of the firebox with heavy foil. After the ashes cool, lift out the foil-ashes and all-and toss in the trash.
– Before grilling, spray the cold grill rack with nonstick cooking spray.
– After removing food from the grill, cover both sides of the grill rack with wet paper towels or newspapers and set the rack aside. Burned-on food should wash off easily later.
– For stubborn spots, scrub the grill with a stiff wire brush, scouring pads or a damp sponge sprinkled with dry baking soda.
– To clean a gas grill, turn the gas to ”high.” Lower the hood and let burn for about 15 minutes. After cooling, remove the charred particles from the grill rack. Once a year, remove the gas grill`s rack, briquettes and briquette rack, and brush out the bottom of the grill. –
