The Israeli courts have upheld the order to deport Mubarak Awad. The message the Israelis are sending to the Palestinians and their supporters is clear: Israel will neither talk to nor listen to any Palestinian, be he a PLO ”terrorist” or a man of peace like Mr. Awad. For years Israel has claimed that it is willing to talk with any ”moderate” Palestinian. Now that lie, too, has been exposed for what it is.
