The engagement of Elizabeth Anne Corcoran to George Charles Anders has been announced by the future bride`s parents, John and Virginia Corcoran, of Newtown, Conn., formerly of Elmhurst.
Elizabeth Corcoran is a graduate of Georgetown University, Washington, D.C. She is an editor of Scientific American magazine in New York.
Her father is a senior computer science engineer for the Perkin-Elmer Corp., a scientific instruments firm in New Haven, Conn.
The future bridegroom received a degree from Stanford University, Stanford, Calif., where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He is a senior special writer for the Wall Street Journal in New York.
His parents are Edward and Joan Anders, of Chicago. His father is a professor of chemistry at the University of Chicago.
The couple plans an August wedding in St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Newtown, Conn.
