The letter by Mitch Donars on July 28 about the rights of WLUP-AM to broadcast the ”scatology and profanity” of Steve Dahl and Garry Meier fails to establish any credibility in its argument.
How can the ”occasional listener” feel personally offended by a show that is heard by more people in its demographic group than any show in Chicago? Why is the ”occasional listener” still tuning in to the show if he feels it to be personally offensive? Quite obviously the FCC would have told WLUP-AM by now to ”clean up” its broadcasts if it were violating any FCC regulations. I think the ”occasional listener” would be better off changing stations instead of trying to ruin it for those of us who aren`t personally offended.
