I am writing to praise the actions of Joseph Cardinal Bernardin for holding a mass and burial service for 2,000 murdered fetuses. I am in full agreement with the cardinal`s statement that ”every human life, at every state of development from conception to natural death and in all
circumstances, is sacred and beloved of God.”
The burial service, therefore, affirms the basic truth that a fetus is a human being at the moment of conception, and that abortion is tantamount to murder. The ACLU`s statement that the mass and burial service were a
”shameless publicity stunt” shows a fundamental lack of sensitivity for a fetus` basic and constitutional right to life.
Indeed, the ACLU is the organization that ought to be ashamed. Ashamed for its role in defending a pro-choice position that has already resulted in the murder of over 20 million fetuses.
