Only 2 1/2 months ago, 21-year-old Don McKenzie`s life was chaos. He forgot appointments. He lost notes. He botched up other people`s schedules. He made people mad.
Then the Westmont resident made a purchase that he says changed his life and made him a man of his word. (Pay attention, folks, this could be you.)
McKenzie bought a suit-pocket organizer.
”It`s like always having a filing cabinet with you,” he says. Phone numbers, date book, check book, expense account book, note book, credit cards, drivers license, money and more. I carry it in my hand (because he`s not generally wearing a suit). I check it every morning and every night. It makes me responsible.”
McKenzie was so inspirational that we wanted to call him back and ask him how much it cost, but we can`t seem to find his number . . . .

Shoppers visiting the new center just off Roosevelt Road in Glen Ellyn should take note so that they don`t mispronounce the name of the center`s main thoroughfare, Rodeo Drive. That`s Ro-DAY-o as in Beverly Hills, not RO-de-o as in Montana or some other square state out west.
”We worked on the name a long time,” says Barbara Michaels, general manager of House of Brides, one of the center`s seven tenants. ”I don`t remember who exactly came up with the name, but I know it was someone who had something to do with Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills.”
While one won`t find Gucci, Bijan or Tiffany on the Du Page version of that pricey avenue, one will find everything needed for that once (or twice or whatever)-in-a-lifetime wedding day: wedding dress, tuxedo, travel agent and so on. ”And we`re in the midst of signing a florist,” says Michaels.
And just so there`s no confusion, this Rodeo Drive is just west of the White Hen Pantry and right across the street from the Toyota dealer. SOURCE: Denise Joyce.
