It is amazing how quietly The Chicago Tribune reported the most recent attack by the contras on a peaceful civilian boat where two persons were killed and an American injured. I suppose in reporting the events of Reagan`s messed-up foreign policy, a few hundred Iranian deaths warrant a front-page headline, while a few Nicaraguan deaths and an American near-one only get page 12.
How interesting it is that visiting Americans, especially those on the attacked boat ”Peace Mission,” are at high risk in a country where a war would not exist were it not for U.S. defense budget dollars.
