As a former city planner, current city resident and businesswoman in the City of Chicago, I applaud your refreshingly candid articles on the ”Politics of Poverty.”
For too long, the antidevelopment forces have cloaked themselves in the euphemistic garb of the ”reform” and most recently the ”progressive”
movements. Reform and progress for whom? Certainly not for the poverty-stricken, the schoolchildren or the taxpayers of this city.
Please keep the media focused on this very critical issue. If these insidious and pathological elements are allowed to thrive, a great city will suffer and ultimately decline to a point of no return.
