Schultz Bros. Co., a retail chain with 51 stores in 4 states, including one in Illinois, filed for protection from creditors under U.S. bankruptcy laws, citing ”substantial losses.” The company, based in Lake Zurich, said it is thinking of selling all its retail operations, most of which are in Wisconsin. Its only Illinois store is in Downstate Hoopeston.
