I agree with conservative columnists Evans and Novak that George Bush is wrongly trying to have it both ways on abortion: When speaking to Catholic or fundamentalist Christians he wants clinical abortion made a crime, with all that that entails. He is wishy-washy to flustered, however, when pinned down on the subject before a general audience, and he prefers the subject not be mentioned at all in the overall campaign.
Come on, George! Your ”pro-life” supporters want more than wimpy lip-service to what they consider a ”mortal sin,” and the rest of us don`t appreciate your head-in-the-sand stance.
Pro-choice advocates too expect to hear you speak loud and clear on the subject.
