A proposal from Waste Management Inc., of Oak Brook, to build a four-story office building and multilevel parking garage at 700 E. Butterfield Rd. has been approved by the Lombard Village Board.
Along with approval of plans for the 7.9-acre site, west of Meyers Road and east of Fairfield Avenue, the Village Board last Wednesday approved two variances allowing a reduction in the number of required parking spaces and a larger building than permitted under Lombard floor-area ratio standards.
It was estimated that 400 employees will work at the new facility and an additional 250 cars are projected to be added to Butterfield Road during peak traffic hours.
