Services have been held in Chicago for Sam Toplon, 91, one of the owners of Abel and Toplon wholesale ladies apparel formerly located at 323 S. Franklin St. Mr. Toplon, who lived on North Lake Shore Drive, died Oct. 20 at the Warren Barr Pavilion, Chicago. He was a Navy veteran of World War I and was in the wholesale ladies garment business for 50 years until 12 years ago. Mr. Toplon also was a fundraiser for the Anti-Defamation League. He is survived by his wife, Ruth; and a sister.
