An $11.4 million contract for the widening of Ill. Hwy. 83 in the Villa Park-Elmhurst area has been awarded by the Illinois Deaprtment of
Transportation to K-Five Construction Co. and Lorig Construction Co.
The road is to be widened to three lanes in each direction from two between 16th Street and roughly St. Charles Road.
The work is to be completed in a year, the department said.
