The virulent reaction of the antigun groups to the children`s coloring book put out by the NRA (”Police official calls NRA coloring book for kids `a disgrace` ”) shows that safety is not the real motive behind the call for a ban on guns.
The coloring book has one simple message for children, and it could save their lives: If you see a gun, don`t touch it-leave the area and tell an adult. Clearly, the true motive of the handgun banners is not to end
”accidents and injuries to children.” Their real agenda is to disarm American citizens, and to discredit the NRA, the chief defender of our right to bear arms. The emotional pleas ”for the safety of children” are only a smokescreen.
