For Nov. 18-19

– PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Barry Sanders, Oklahoma State. For the second straight week. He slumped Saturday, gaining ”only” 293 yards and scoring four touchdowns in Oklahoma State`s 49-28 victory over Iowa State. It was another Heisman Trophy performance.

– GAME OF THE WEEK: Michigan`s 34-31 victory over Ohio State. Even though the Buckeyes lost, credit them with a gutsy comeback. Michigan receiver John Kolesar, who set up and scored the winning touchdown, might be the most underrated player in the Big 10.

– UPSET OF THE WEEK: Utah routs Freedom Bowl-bound Brigham Young 57-28. Utah`s sophomore quarterback, Scott Mitchell, passed for 384 yards and three touchdowns. He`ll be a player to watch next year.

– QUOTE OF THE WEEK: ”I would have had to have been on my deathbed not to play today,” said USC quarterback Rodney Peete. Peete recovered from the measles to lead the Trojans to a 31-22 victory over UCLA.

– DID YOU KNOW . . . ? USC has won nine straight games against UCLA when the Rose Bowl was on the line for both teams.
