Joan Beck`s column in The Tribune, ”The scam Congress pulled on our senior citizens,” is right on the money. It is time that someone sticks up for those of us who saved our money and are now living on a fixed income.
Aside from the steady erosion of that income because of inflation, the chipping away at our income by Medicare, taxing Medicare benefits (enacted a few years ago) and now this scam make us apprehensive of the future.
