Louie Anderson is looking for a new producer/writer for his prospective NBC series.
”I had two writers; we had the concept all worked out and were working on a script,” the comedian said. ”But they were also working on another comedian`s TV show. And pressure was put on them to not write both shows. Hopefully I can find someone else with a background in TV writing and producing.”
Anderson also is hopeful he can have ”The Louie Anderson Show” in shape for shooting this April and says, ”I`ll be playing myself, and my mother and father in the show. I`ll open the shows with a monologue, and from there, anything can happen, anyone can drop by because I`m a comedian living in Hollywood.”
Even if ”The Louie Anderson Show” should be delayed, Louie Anderson will still have plenty to keep him busy. He`s working on a script for an HBO comedy special to shoot this summer and is writing a routine for his appearance on ”Comic Relief.” He also has just signed a deal with Viking to publish his ”Dear Dad” autobiography that focuses on his relationship with his father and the effects of his father`s alcoholism. Louie expects to finish the book in early March for publication in the fall.
– Don`t expect John Schneider to continue his starring role in ”The Magical World of Disney`s” ”Wild Jack” series. ”This seems to be just a three-shot deal at the moment,” said the former ”Dukes of Hazzard” star of the show that debuted Jan. 15 and is also slotted for airing Feb. 12 and March 12. ”Besides, I have a lot of other stuff going on. If `Wild Jack` continues, there may have to be someone else behind the beard.” Schneider began some of the ”other stuff” at the end of January-starring with Ned Beatty and Apollonia in the big-screen adventure ”Minister of Vengeance.” He also has a deal with Lorimar Telepictures to develop and co-produce a TV movie.
