I am a lifelong lover of horses and the outdoors, and an aficionado of a good ”oater.” When all the reviewers (yours included, as well as various TV ”arbiters of taste in films”) were using such hyperbole to entice viewers to watch ”Lonesome Dove,” I thought I would spend a pleasant evening looking at the second installment.
Despite the pretense of good acting and some pretty Western landscape, what I and my wife found was: brutal murder, rape, torture, savagery, bestiality, depravity and inhumanity. No wonder our streets are full of crime and drugs when our so-called critics call such garbage and trash a sensitive art film.
Let`s call a spade a spade. Along with all the other horror and violence films, this is an abomination!
