In the article, ”PLO leader makes peace plea to Israelis,” Carol Rosenberg reported on a speech in which Abu Iyad, deputy to Yasser Arafat, advocated peaceful coexistence between Israel and a Palestinian state.

If Ms. Rosenberg followed the Arab press, she would find that Abu Iyad says something quite different there.

On Dec. 12, he told the Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Siyassi, ”The establishment of a Palestinian state in any part of Palestine has as its goal the establishment of a Palestinian state in all of Palestine.”

The PLO leaders are just up to their old tricks. To the Western media, they present a facade of moderation. To other Arabs, they show their determination to destroy Israel.
