The Rockford Lightning was struck down in its bid to extend the Continental Basketball Association championship series Friday.

Wes Matthews` last-second three-pointer carried the Tulsa Fast Breakers to a 114-111 victory as the first-year club thundered to a four-game sweep of the CBA`s best-of-seven finals. Matthews earlier hit a 25-footer to put Tulsa ahead 111-110.

”It was money,” he said of his last shot. ”I was so happy to see it go between the nets. That was my best shot, the best shot of my career.”

Matthews lead Tulsa with 29 points, including seven three-pointers. Dexter Shouse added 27 points.

Matthews set the stage with 38 seconds left by hitting his sixth three-pointer. Seventeen seconds later Dwayne McClain, Rockford`s top scorer (28 points), tied the game with a free throw. Tulsa worked the ball to Matthews for the game-winner.

Henry Bibby won his first title as a coach on the pro level after winning the NCAA crown at UCLA and an NBA title as a New York Knick.
