Streamwood 20, St. Charles 3-Streamwood (2-3, 1-2 in the Upstate Eight)

scored 13 points in the fourth quarter to clinch it. The Sabres scored first on Kevin Koller`s 4-yard run and St. Charles (1-4, 1-2) made it 7-3 on a 25-yard field goal by Ryan Finley. Koller`s 3-yard TD run in the fourth quarter increased the lead and a 9-yard TD pass to Jason Calabrese from Eric Ekstrom finished it.

Hampshire 35, North Boone 7-Dustin Bicknese (20 carries, 74 yards) rushed for a pair of TDs, while Matt Ellett and Alan Thompson also scored on 1-yard runs in a convincing Big Eight win for Hampshire (2-3, 2-1). North Boone falls to 1-4, 1-2 with the loss.

WEST

Marmion 48, St. Edward 0-Coasting to a 27-0 halftime lead, Marmion Military (5-0, 1-0) opened its West Suburban season on a high note as Alan Brookner (11 carries, 66 yards) and Rob Richardson (7 carries, 64 yards)

scored two touchdowns in the West Suburban mismatch.

”We just outnumbered them,” said Marmion coach Paul Murphy, whose present team is the first since 1975. ”They have more players, but we play a physical style of football. When we get a team down, we`ll try to pound lumps on them.”

”Today we had a total mental letdown,” said St. Edward coach Don Huber, whose team dropped to 1-4, 0-1. ”We didn`t concentrate at all. Marmion is not 48 points better than we are. We just didn`t come to play.”

Driscoll 27, Montini 17-Unbeaten Driscoll (5-0, 1-0) rolled to its fifth straight victory as quarterback Gary Schlatholt (10 for 16, 185 yards) threw for two touchdowns, one a 53-yard bomb to Brian Wojtun, and Ken Arndt (15 carries, 73 yards) scored twice on 10-yard runs. Delkowski, who booted a 25-yard field goal, threw 10- and 21-yard TD passes to Bob Westerkamp for Montini (2-3, 0-1).

Downers North 38, Proviso West 12-Garrett Sample amassed 151 yards on 12 carries and scored touchdowns on runs of 47, 40 and 1 yards and Sonny Nuccio added 11- and 12-yard touchdown runs as Downers Grove North (3-2, 1-1) built a 31-6 halftime lead and coasted in the West Suburban Silver. Jerry Ball hit Kerwin Badie with a 45-yard TD pass and Adrian Harvey raced 43 yards for another TD for Proviso West (0-5, 0-2).

Minooka 17, Elmwood Park 12-Dale Santerelli fired TD passes of 25 and 58 yards to Jim Ryan for Minooka (2-3, 1-0) in the first Northeast conference game for both teams. Tom Carli`s 70-yard TD run was the highlight for winless Elmwood Park (0-5, 0-1).

Evergreen Park 34, Lisle 7-Evergreen Park (1-4, 1-0), sparked by Jerry Zavorka`s TD passes to Mike Case (5 yards) and Rich Lasaskis (21 yards), scored 21 points in the second quarter of the Northeast game. Keith Coote`s 6- yard TD run capped the second quarter scoring drive for the Mustangs. Lisle is 1-4 overall and 0-1 in conference with the loss.

Nazareth Academy 45, Aurora Central Catholic 19-Phil Winiecki (12-20, 227 yards) passed for four TDs, including 81- and 7-yard tosses to receiver Lyron Brooks for Nazareth Academy (4-1, 1-0) in a Private School League blowout. Winiecki also connected with Cliff Alberts (51-yard TD) and Jerry Mastalarz

(10-yard TD) in the game. The RoadRunners led 20-7 at the half.

Wheaton North 30, Glenbard South 6-Wheaton North (4-1, 2-1), paced by Mike Kinney (12 for 20, 180 yards, including 13- and 35-yard TD passes to Craig Kelso), led 23-0 at halftime in the Du Page Valley game. Glenbard South (0-5, 0-3) remains winless with the loss.

Immaculate Conception 6, St. Francis 0-Tom Leone`s 2-yard TD run in the fourth quarter iced the game for IC (2-3, 1-0) in a West Suburban Catholic battle.

Plainfield 14, Sycamore 8-In Little Seven action, QB Kevin Keagle scored on a 1-yard sneak in the fourth quarter to lead Plainfield (2-3, 1-2). Keagle scored the only other points for the Wildcats on a first quarter, 4-yard run. Westmont 20, Lemont 6-Scott Sterba (24 carries, 131 yards) scored twice as Westmont (4-1, 1-0) rolled in the Northeast Conference. Lemont fell to 2-3, 0-1.

Dwight 33, Reed-Custer 7-Jeff Schaubske had 22 receptions, scored three touchdowns and intercepted two passes and Ken Nurczyk had 112 yards on 13 receptions as Dwight (1-4, 1-2) took to the air waves to stave off Reed-Custer (1-4, 0-3) in the Interstate Eight.
