In response to Michael Walker`s ”Is Canada`s health system superior?”
that appeared in the Oct. 12 issue of The Tribune:
I disagree with Walker`s conclusion that the Canadian health-care system is far inferior to ours. Why does every hospital in every city in the U.S. need a CAT scanner and a magnetic-resonance imaging machine?
Why should wealthier citizens have access to better health care? If health care is a right, as it is seen to be here in the U.S., do wealthier citizens have more rights? In the Canadian system, improved health care may progress slowly, but at least it progresses for everyone.
