I find it interesting that many Western governments are heralding ”the collapse of communism” in Eastern Europe. I believe this thinking is both premature and dangerous. Mr. Gorbachev has very cleverly dumped the bankrupt nations of Eastern Europe in the laps of the Western nations.

The responsibility for feeding, clothing and housing the millions of people is now on the shoulders of the West. If Eastern Europe is to be restored to a healthy economy, it will take years of work and billions of dollars in aid.

Mr. Gorbachev has not renounced communism`s goal of world domination. In the Third World his government continues to spend over $15 billion yearly in military aid to Afghanistan, Cambodia, Angola, Nicaragua and Cuba.

When our troops entered Panama they found large quantities of various weapons including thousands of AK-47 assault rifles, along with thousands of rounds of ammunition, all of Soviet origin.

Most of the brush fire wars around the globe today are fueled by Soviet military advisers, with their weapons and equipment. There is a saying that refers to a wolf in sheep`s clothing. Maybe this wolf goes by the name of Mikhail Gorbachev.
