When Australian, British, Canadian or European concerns purchase U.S. property, little notice is taken. When a Japanese concern buys some property, there is much outrage. I think this reveals a racist attitude on the part of many Americans. White-skinned foreigners are thought of as ”one of us,” but the Japanese are suspect.
Ironically, Honda, Toyota and others have opened auto and motorcycle assembly plants in the U.S., but I can`t think of any Mercedes-Benz, BMW or Fiat assembly plants!
