Peter H. Witty, 84, an independent ice-cream maker, died Friday in St. Petersburg, Fla. The former resident of Highland Park owned Witty Ice Cream in Highland Park for 35 years. He retired to Florida in 1974. Survivors include a son, Donald Witty; a daughter, Marianne Vines; a brother; two sisters; and eight grandchildren. Mass will be said at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary`s Catholic Church, 312 Lincoln Ave., Woodstock.
