William Salkover`s letter in your Dec. 25 issue is yet another brainless, misguided attack on Vice President Dan Quayle. Had Mr. Salkover and others who have listened to the news media`s attacks on Quayle taken the trouble to review Quayle`s senatorial record, they would have a more balanced
understanding of the man. It`s much easier to simply take something he has said out of context and turn it to their advantage.
If Mr. Salkover truly believes that economic factors are not root causes of the political upheaval in Eastern Europe, he is hopelessly ignorant.
