Cross-country skiers at the Waterfall Glen Forest Preserve south of Darien may be a little safer under a trial program approved Tuesday by the Du Page County Forest Preserve Commission.
Commissioners approved a one-year agreement with the National Ski Patrol that will permit members of the Orland Park-based group to patrol the 32 miles of trails during ski season. The patrol also will provide emergency services until preserve rangers can arrive on the scene.
