Lisle officials are eager to solve the traffic problems at Illinois Highway 53 and Main Street.

Assistant Village Manager Mary Lou Kalsted submitted a letter to James Slifer, district engineer with the Illinois Department of Transportation, requesting a meeting as soon as possible.

On two other occasions, the Village Board asked for a meeting with Slifer to discuss removing the right turn arrow at the intersection, especially between 6 and 9 a.m. During rush hour, residents have said it is difficult to leave their driveways because the arrow allows traffic off Illinois 53 to continue moving.
