Last month a drunk driver who killed a pedestrian in 1987 was sentenced by Cook County Judge Richard Neville to seven days in jail and 2 1/2 years probation. Last month drunk driver Larry Mahoney, who killed 27 people, including 24 children, was convicted on 27 counts of second-degree

manslaughter-not murder-and will be eligible for parole in eight years. However, Larry Mahoney did say he was sorry. Talk is cheap. Apparently lives are, too.
