Joseph A. Cronin, 75, a former Chicago retail store buyer, died Jan. 18 in St. Patrick`s Residence, Naperville. Mr. Cronin was a buyer for Gately`s Peoples Store in Chicago`s Roseland neighborhood for many years. A longtime Flossmoor resident, he moved to Naples, Fla., after retiring in 1984. During World War II, Mr. Cronin served in the Army`s 84th Infantry Division. Survivors include a son, Kevin; a brother; and a grandson. A memorial mass was said Monday in Flossmoor.
