Your Jan. 21 editorial called for warning labels on records because some songs contain violent lyrics.
Elsewhere in The Tribune that day, I read about the following: the death of a local clergyman after his head had been brutally beaten with the claw of a hammer; possible legislation in Washington that would reduce prison sentences for sex offenders who agree to be castrated; a group of nearly 20 people who stoned a neighbor`s house; yet another recap of the McMartin Pre-School child molestation case; and the arrest of a teenager who razor-slashed two people, requiring one victim to receive ”40 stitches to close a gash from his ear to his chin.”
In the Tempo section, you featured a photograph of a dead man being pulled out of Boston Harbor.
How about warning labels for your newspaper?
