Tune in to ”Hangout” and you`re likely to find a segment on gerbil pet tricks, baton twirling techniques or a kid-on-the-street music poll.

Produced by kids for kids, with the help of four adult producers who provide technical support, ”Hangout” hit the cable lineup on Naperville Community Television in December.

”The show started off as a comedy skit-type show,” said producer David Jones, 14, a freshman at Naperville North High School. ”It moved on. We`re now doing movie reviews, interviews. It`s a light-hearted interview show.”

So far, all the producers have pooled their creative resources and technical know-how to do a variety of program features from a cooking show taped in a teenage cook`s kitchen to the tracking of two teenage girls`

efforts to get the fashion scoop at a mall.

Taped once a month, ”Hangout” is shown several times a month on Jones Intercable-Naperville Commmunity Television-Ch. 17.
