Most of us dumb readers out here think reporters are more than a little hypocritical.
A case in point is the remark by Bob Verdi in his column:
”If the Bears don`t satisfy Steve McMichael, then what are they telling the public about their commitment to win?” Does Verdi really believe the Bears don`t want to win, or does he believe the Bears should renegotiate the contracts of all their players who happened to have a good year last year?
McMichael signed a contract and should abide by its terms until it expires. If he had had a poor year, would Verdi support the Bears` management if it wanted to renegotiate his contract to a lesser figure?
