Like it or not, says image consultant Suzanne Clem-Wheeler, the way you look often influences the way other people react to you.
”Image is extremely important. You only get one chance to make a good impression,” Clem-Wheeler said. ”The better you look, the better you feel. If you feel good, it puts a smile on your face, and a smile is your best friend.”
Clem-Wheeler shares some of her image-making advice on ”Image Workshop,” a program soon to be added to the Willowbrook-based WHBC-Ch. 51 Continental lineup. ”I try to give information on the show so people can do a little bit themselves,” said Clem-Wheeler, who offers personalized image consulting services through her Clarendon Hills company.
The first show will feature fashions. The second explores ways of winning the weight-loss war. The third is devoted to color analysis and color coordination.
With a background in theater and employment consulting, Clem-Wheeler said she has seen both image marvels and mistakes. ”A lot of people may have had the skills, but their appearance really hindered their chances of getting a job. A lot of times they`re dressing for the position they were in before instead of for the position they want to be in. A lot of times, they`re just not paying attention to detail and not presenting a sense of continuity.”
”Image Workshop” is expected to make its debut this month and will be shown at various times and days on Continental WHBC-Ch. 51.
