William Raspberry says our (presumably he means blacks`) most pressing problems are teen pregnancy, crime, academic indifference, the dearth of role models, etc.
Not quite. African Americans` biggest problem is how to overcome centuries of white supremacy indoctrination that continues to this day and has ingrained deeply into us a self-hatred.
That feeling has resulted in a ”people-wide” loss of self-esteem far more extensive than the dysfunctions comprising Raspberry`s list of pressing problems.
Erasing self-hatred requires that African Americans take paths like those associated with Minister Farrakhan and other self-assertive blacks; it necessitates an exhibited pride in one`s African heritage.
And this is upsetting and unacceptable to white supremacy, which insists on approving the self-help paths African Americans should take.
