Olympia Fields Polie Chief Fred Unger, 59, submitted his resignation Monday to the Village Board, which accepted it and voted him a $10,000 bonus for building up the Police Department over his 19 years as chief. Unger`s resignation is effective June 30, but with accumulated vacation time he will go off active duty May 31, officials said.
