– Rich East 15, Rich South 3-Carrie Buckner (4 for 4, 3 RBIs) and Sarah Arendt (2 for 3, 2 RBIs) stoked a potent offense for No. 5 Rich East (16-2, 4-0)
in the SICA South. Angie Alessendrini (5-1) picked up the win.
– West Aurora 3, East Aurora 1-Julie Fisher (2 for 3, 1 RBI) and Monica Cannon (2 for 3, one run scored) paced the offense, while winning pitcher Missy Lawrence (14-0) struck out nine for No. 8 West Aurora (15-0, 9-0) in the Upstate Eight.
– Wheaton Christian 15, Aurora Christian 4-Cathy Brinks (4-9) struck out 13 in a no-hit performance for Wheaton Christian (4-12). Valerie Lankum (three runs scored) and Beth Russel (3 RBIs) paced the victors.
– Romeoville 2, Lincoln-Way 1-Romeoville (2-9) was led by Suzanne O`Rourke, who hurled a no-hitter, but lost her perfect game when she walked a Lincoln-Way batter in the seventh inning.
– Benet Academy 10, Glenbard South 1-Mary Zahour and Kate Enochs each went 2 for 4 with a double to lead Benet Academy (9-6).
– Stagg 10, Shepard 2-Julie Meier drove in four runs for Stagg (10-6, 2-0) in a SICA North game.
SOCCER
– Stagg 3, Eisenhower 0-Pat Maras, Janie Trinitapoli and Kris Leddy guided Stagg (6-6, 3-1) in the SICA North. Goalie Alison Bednar got her first shutout of the season.
– Maria d. St. Benedict-Maureen Smith had three goals, while Linda Budz and Sally Bedalow scored two goals apiece for Maria (4-6-1).
VOLLEYBALL
– Eisenhower d. Homewood-Flossmoor-Chris Ferrin had 19 points served for Eisenhower (4-7, 5-10) in a 15-7, 15-10 win over Homewood-Flossmoor.
