At the risk of being labeled judgmental by the Paul Greenbergs of the world, I have an opinion. I would like to protest the strident anti-Chuck Colson (read: anti-Christian) sentiments in Paul Greenberg`s April 22 column. Greenberg`s attack on Colson`s public opinion that the country is becoming ”less Christian in its value structure” is less about the opinion itself and more about his personal bias against the man who has been in the vanguard of bringing people into the Christian church for over a decade.

Colson`s evangelistic activity should give him some sense of the subject. But Greenberg is offended that Colson had the audacity to express such an opinion and labels Colson ”judgmental,” taking 11 paragraphs to accuse him of ”judging” the value structure of the nation.

Greenberg does a grave disservice to all by suggesting that Colson is off limits in voicing his opinion. Most of us, unlike Greenberg, are not paid for expressing our public opinion, and I assume (judgmentally I suppose) that Greenberg would be among the first to protest if that right were denied.
