The latest contrast in a society which devalues the right things, and promotes the wrong, was on Tempo`s front page in the Tribune`s April 25 edition, side by side.

Bob Greene`s column was about a group of school children being prevented from singing the ”Star Spangled Banner” in front of the Lincoln Memorial. Next to it was a report on new magazines, telling of their main trend, sex, with names such as ”Raunchy,” ”Stag`s Hot Bodies” and ”Honey-Buns and Hot Housewives.”

When patriotism is squished and lust promoted, we are indeed in trouble.
