William Izzo, 84, a former Cook County probation officer, died Wednesday in Westchester Manor Nursing Home, Westchester. Mr. Izzo also had worked as a musician with the Paul Whiteman and Ted Lewis orchestras, and as a funeral director with a brother, Joseph, on the Near West Side. He retired as a probation officer in 1979. At one time he also was a 29th Ward precinct captain. Survivors include two sons, Anthony and Vincent; two brothers; three sisters; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday in Cumberland Chapels, 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge. Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Saturday at Divine Providence Church, 2550 S. Mayfair Ave., Westchester.
