– Dr. Bud Gunn has been named the 1989 Illinois Senior Amateur of the Year by golfer-insurance man Ace Ellis. Gunn, who plays out of Olympia Fields Country Club, finished first in points accumulated in four senior tournaments, qualified for the United States Golf Association Senior Amateur and won two matches. He also finished fifth in the Illinois State Senior Amateur.
