At least six major real estate developers have expressed serious interest in developing a major portion of the Techny property in north suburban Northbrook, a spokesman for the property`s owner said Tuesday.
”In terms of serious contenders, we`re talking to maybe six or seven at the present moment,” said Guenther ”Bud” Philipp, an attorney for the property`s owner, the Society of the Divine Word. He declined to identify the developers, adding that it would be ”a matter of weeks” before developers decide to proceed with the project.
Earlier this month, citing a credit crunch, Rubloff Inc. withdrew from plans to develop more than 400 acres of the society`s 773-acre holding with a hotel, office complex and shopping center.
