Delaware bank rule hit: Rep. Frank Annunzio (D-Ill.), chairman of the House banking subcommittee on financial institutions, said he is ”greatly disturbed” by a new Delaware law giving state-chartered banking firms there the power to sell insurance nationwide. He said he opposes financial institutions departing from their traditional role. ”Have we learned nothing from the savings and loan disaster?” he said. ”It came about because the industry was deregulated.”
