So the United States was ”upset” because Israel is reluctant to negotiate with the Palestinians (Tribune, June 14).
It is sad that Palestinians in general are smeared by the murderous Yasser Arafat-and killed when they don`t toe his line.
But Israel is asked to negotiate with the PLO itself. I am not fooled by Arafat`s renunciation of terrorism-but even if he is sincere, he is clearly not in control of his own gang, which continues to trumpet each of its latest brutal and bloodthirsty acts.
I am upset too. I am upset by terrorists-oops, I`m sorry, freedom fighters-who blast babies through the sides of aircraft, machine gun pregnant women and dump old men in wheelchairs overboard.
